Today's
economy has everybody looking for ways to save money by finding
good deals. One of the better deals currently floating around
involves paying less for golf course tee times. Discounted fee
promotions show up on the Internet, in print media and via direct
mail to your address. How you feel about playing golf at reduced
rates is up to you. Just realize many of those discount offers
come from golf layouts with great track records; some of which
you might never be able to play if they weren't so anxious to
find some extra revenues.
Discount plans are developed by individual golf
courses and by conglomerates that own and/or manage several golf
clubs. You can also get a good deal from some of the world's greatest
vacation spots, where hotels are anxious to fill more rooms and
suites. Hotels and nearby golf courses often work in tandem to
offer visitors the best of both worlds – great golf during
the day, great food and entertainment in the evening. And it won't
bankrupt anyone.
There
are also local golf organizations that, for a price, offer annual
players cards that automatically reduce green fees at those courses
that have signed onto the package. Before joining these golf card
plans, make sure you're going to play enough golf to actually
make enough on the saved tee time prices to justify paying for
the initial membership fee.
Golf fee discounters admit to having a strong
bias in favor of E-based marketing plans. There are some technical
challenges to be dealt with, but the system is proving to be more
effective than traditional media. It appears that many golf courses
haven't begun taking advantage of online marketing. That provides
resourceful entrepreneurs the room to really work the Internet.
Golf courses should eventually come around to realizing that it
only takes a reliable vendor who can use golf software systems
to help clubs realize their marketing goals.
One
of the better aspects of looking for discounted green fees is
that there are many ways to get the best price. There are some
deals that allow two players on the course for the price of one,
or two discount vouchers can be used to let four play golf. Some
discount deals do have special days on which you can play, but
that's a minor inconvenience for truly dedicated players. Discunt
plans can include more than golf, lunch and/or dinner. Many deals
involve providing tourists with golf-related goodies, some of
which can include full sets of golf clubs, based on how long one
stays with the hotel.
While you can't be satisfied with how the economy
is struggling, it is great to know that there are some things
that make it less harsh with which to live. You don't have to
be a golf addict to apply for any deal that comes your way. Just
go and have fun, on and off the course.
